Opening and closing with expansive mood pieces, it takes a little bit of listening to get into this album. But sandwiched in between lies the real meat of this record. Bluesy ballads such as Sky and Train are balanced by upbeat poptunes like What You Want and Better Off as We Are. The rockin' Beatles-esque Get Through to You shows them in top form. Every song here tends to evoke the pictoral majesty of the Canadian countryside while never sounding hokey. Nowhere to Here is the sixth studio album by Blue Rodeo. A more electric rock album than the band's 1993 outing Five Days in July, the album was not as well received by critics and fans as its predecessor. Despite this, Side of the Road and Better Off As We Are were notable singles. Sarah McLachlan appears as a guest vocalist on Save Myself, Girl in Green, and Brown-Eyed Dog. All songs by Greg Keelor and Jim Cuddy. Save Myself 6:00. Girl in Green 6:20. What You Want 4:14. Hello We have detected Русский as your language preference. Nowhere to here, has rapidly become my 2nd favorite album from Blue Rodeo, right after 5 days of May. It is exceptionally well recorded. In fact, I use it as a reference to evaluate audio equipment - it sounds THAT good But most of all, the music here is just wonderful. There is great variety of musical styles, ballads, acoustic, rock etc. so there is no shortage of variety. All in all, if you like Blue Rodeo, or would like to, this album has to be a must buy. Possibly my favourite Blue Rodeo album, this introspective, moody, down-beat album was apparently the result of a lengthy tour behind the sunny Five Days in July - when you are gone that long, things fall apart a little bit. This album reflects a turbulent period for the members of the band, in which everyone either had a problem or was upset by someone else's problems
