Social Change - Fania All Stars. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Fania All-Stars studio releases never quite catch the excitement of their live concerts recordings. This 1981 release has the in-the-pocket grooves these professionals can deliver, but never quite clicks. Using a sax as the lead on Samba Pa Ti was a great idea sadly, the sour tone undermines the way the soloing should change from lyrical delicacy to slow burn. The other forays into various genres are equally uninspired, and the overall effect is easy listening. Fania All-Stars - Social Change 1981. To favorites 0 Download album. Listen album. The Fania All-Stars is a musical group formed in 1968 as a showcase for the musicians on Fania Records, the leading salsa music record label of the time. In 1964, Fania Records was founded in New York City by Jerry Masucci, an Italian-American lawyer with a love for Cuban music, and Johnny Pacheco, a flutist, percussionist and bandleader born in the Dominican Republic but raised in the South Bronx who had like minded musical tastes. Masucci later bought out his partner Pacheco from Fania Entertainment. Play jigsaw puzzles for free Home. Fania All Stars. Social Change, 1981. Back To My Roots, 08:03. Salsalito, 06:18. Salsa and Tropical Change does incorporate some jazz elements such as piano and soft horns, and I actually enjoy jazz specially latin jazzbut, this album to me is a miserable failure in many aspects. As I said earlier, its sound is too reminiscent of disco and not even Gato Balbieri could save this album. I would definitely stay away from this one as this is not the usual Fania. On this album, the Fania All Stars tried to create a hybrid of Disco, Jazz, Funk and Salsa-with disastruously tragic results. The only song I enjoyed on this otherwise lacklustre set was Back To My Roots. Read more.
