Still now, you are not sure how everything must be, to be original, and in any case the myth of the exit has fallen the day after Ian's suicide. Those who sell it from € 700, to € 2,500, are at risk, that no one will buy the object from him, as a collector I have a copy that has been made and well maintained, and a slightly more worn one, I sell the copy without going through the originals. I am a collector of JD, but I would never spend those numbers, to then not be sure of having the original. In addition, the photos of the fanzine, passed off as originals, a dozen, are always the same one one has put on and the others have taken it for their sales, at least the photos, for these prices are fundamental. I will never have an original copy, I will not die from it

Sorry? I don't really understand what you are saying. Try expressing it in better English. Please.I have an original copy of the Sordide single. So why don't you make me an offer that I can't refuse? My copy is entirely bona fides. It's original and was given to me in 1980.Can anybody sensible advise me?

I was given this in 1980 (number 134) by a friend who was going off to Poona to pray with Bhagwan. All the inserts are present and correct and it's 'near mint', I would say. Any advice as to where to sell it?

maybe popsike.com , There you can find serious collectors, and perhaps more affordable prices

after almost twenty years from the publication and not even the correction on the main page of Discogs and I still read doubts about the originality of the disc that you want to acquire or that you have ... I clarify once and for all .... the original, with label black and written in silver is a 7 '', but it runs at 33 rpm (as also written on the label), even the page of discogs is still marked at 45 rpm ... those at 45 are counterfeit ...

OK, Alberto. So, I have a little-played original of this timeless single. Number 134, it was given to me in 1980, and has both the inserts and is essentially 'as new' apart from the slight browning on the cellophane 'wrap' that contains the single. The cover is totally undamaged, as is the disc itself.I would value your advice. How much do you think is a fair price for this? You seem to know what you're talking about, and I'm not daft as to it's potential value/
Mine is number 681. I know it's legit because Rob Gretton gave it to me in 1980 at a gig we were doing. I played in a band called Tora Tora. We got Martin Hannet to produce our first single at Cargo Studio in Rochdale.

the original copies numbered at 1578 also differ from rpm, in fact it is a 7 '' at 33 rpm, not at 45, while the counterfeits, starting with the '' medusa label '' run at 45 rpm ....

My copy is numbered 646 of 1578. Everything looks authentic and my outer bag has the Sordide logo printed on a sticker that is fixed to the bag. Vinyl is dark grey. Everything else is there. Any thoughts if this one is authentic? Thanks

No sticker on my copy, and I'm a sole owner since it was released. I'd be suspicious if I were you. The vinyl is definitely black. Where did you get it from?

Original press of 1578 copies only came in black vinyl. Coloured vinyls are counterfeit...

hi, just check the glue which was used to glue the plastic wallet to the folder. if it is brown you have an original, if not you most likely have a bootleg. 2007 bootlegs were in coloured vinyl.

My copy has the outer bag with the Sordide Sentimental logo printed on it, so I believe some came this way.

I picked up a copy of this one (pretty sure it’s a legit official copy) for $1 in a record store, but just the record, and in kinda rough shape. So, if anyone out there has a record-less sleeve and inserts, let me know. Hey, I can dream can’t I?

I was given my copy, my friend, by a mate who was "giving it all away, maaan".So, I was lucky, I guess. What I find more surprising is that "Ideal for Living" is worth even more than this here apogee of JD's recording life. You couldn't have given away IFL in 1978/9, but I could see why. Licht und Blindheit might become a consummately fantastic package, despite, and no doubt, because of, it's incredibly pretentious packaging." Up ourselves, nous"? Long macs and tunnels perfectly sum up that time and place, providing a perfect snapshot of 1979. perhaps the greatest year of pop/rock music that there has ever been.

& you do belief in it? The sales-history does not have a value for me, too!

Hi , you said said that someone find this treasure for $2,50 ??? Lol ... I'm sorry but at this price it is a counterfeit , no doubt for that ... So , at this price even for a counterfeit it's cool .. Got

Must've been some kind of prank, unless there's actual feedback for the transaction visible? It'd take someone with extraordinary levels of kindheartedness and insanity to offer that..

A copy I got long ago has everything except that Sordide thing I see in the third pic in the imaged.. was that a sticker or the original bag it came in?

Most came without plastic bag. Some of the last to be sent out had a plain plastic bag but no logo (Source Jean-Pierre Turmel 2009)

Hello, I bought two copies of this record at the New Rose record-shop in Paris early 1980. None had the Sordide Sentimental plastic bag shown on the photograph. Ian Curtis was still alive then (but not for long).

what you refer to is the outer plastic with the Sordide Sentimentale logo on it. All releases from this label are housed in that same plastic sleeve.

I've got Number 134. The only things that came with it are the blue piece of paper plus an English translation of the incredibly pretentious sleeve notes, as stated in the 'notes' bit above.
